The refined atmosphere at Mistral complements the chef’s artfully crafted menu, ensuring that each visit is an immersive sensory experience from start to finish.

The menu is a treasure trove for anyone enchanted by authentic French fare with inspired twists. Begin with the Classic Escargots Burgundy Style, perfectly bathed in red wine garlic butter with fragrantly toasted semolina bread — a dish that has won praise for its rich, buttery depth. Seafood lovers will revel in the Absolutely Tuna Tartare, served with crisp wontons and a delicate ginger-soy glaze, bursting with fresh oceanic notes that awaken the palate.

Mistral’s signature Half Whole Roasted Duck with exotic mushroom risotto and dried cranberry gastrique is a must-try, imparting a tender, luscious texture balanced by earthy mushrooms and subtle tartness. For those seeking hearty delights, the Grilled Tenderloin of Beef Vin Rouge with olive oil–roasted asparagus and horseradish whipped potatoes showcases a perfect harmony between the robust meatiness of the beef and the fresh, vibrant sides.

If you’re in the mood for an elegant seafood entrée, the Dover Sole Meunière presents lightly sautéed fish drizzled with lemon and capers alongside sautéed spinach, onions, and fingerling potatoes — a dish that highlights pure, clean flavors with masterful finesse. And for dessert, allow the passion fruit crêpe soufflé filled with vanilla custard or the warm Valrhona chocolate torte paired with vanilla bean ice cream to provide a sublime, indulgent finale to your meal.

Dining at Mistral is more than just a meal; it’s an occasion. Guests often comment on the attentive, professional service that complements the food’s exceptional quality. As Sarah Nguyen notes, “Reservations are required and only open within a 30-day window, which adds to the sense that this is a place people plan for.” Indeed, the coordinated team ensures every detail is impeccable, making you feel welcomed and well cared for.

Rick Morse’s praise reflects the culinary delights served here: “Really appreciated how coordinated the team was to make our evening special. Loved the traditional escargot and surprised by the 'lazy man' mussels — the broth had smoky, creamy, and such depth to it.” Such remarks underscore how the cuisine at Mistral is as thoughtfully layered as its service.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply longing for an authentic taste of France in the heart of Boston, Mistral promises an unforgettable dining experience. The passion and finesse poured into every dish, paired with its stunning interior and warm hospitality, ensure that your visit transcends the ordinary, leaving you craving your next trip back.

Mistral is unapologetically elegant—and it makes an impression the moment you walk in. Located near the Theater District, this is a high-end French restaurant that feels like an event in itself. Reservations are required and only open within a 30-day window, which adds to the sense that this is a place people plan for. The space is stunning. Soaring ceilings, dramatic scale, and gorgeous chandeliers create a sense of grandeur that immediately elevates the evening. It’s the kind of room where people dress up—perfect for special occasions, group celebrations, or intimate romantic dinners where atmosphere matters as much as the food. The menu is firmly rooted in classic, mainstream French cuisine. There are many options to choose from, along with an extensive and impressive wine list that clearly caters to both enthusiasts and collectors. While the food didn’t push boundaries or feel experimental, it stayed solidly in its lane—well-executed, familiar, and dependable. Mistral shines most in its experience: the setting, the energy, the polish. It’s a restaurant that knows exactly what it is and delivers consistency, elegance, and a refined night out. If you’re looking for a beautiful room, a celebratory vibe, and classic French fare done competently, Mistral fits the bill perfectly.

The vibe, the service and the food all come together to deliver a wonderful special occasion dining experience. Really appreciated how coordinated the team was to make our evening special. Loved the traditional escargot and surprised by the "lazy man" mussels - the broth had smoky, creamy and such depth to it. Veal Milanese won the presentation and according to my son, the flavor award for our entrees. I enjoyed his dover sole, especially the spinach and sauce, while my wife's fish was very good too. The side of polenta had us all raving . . . and it was just a side! Show stopper was the chocolate mousse that we all shared: best ever and boy does that pastry chef earn their money!

The best french food in town. Absolutely loved the escargot and the duck was so perfectly cooked. We were genuinely surprised by how good everything tasted.

Had a wonderful night and would love to give credits to Sabad N, who was very attentive! My fiancée and myself enjoyed his service. The half roasted duck with risotto was impressive and is a must try for our next visit. We also received a wonderful surprise dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was also a friendly gesture! Will be visiting again in our next trip to Boston:)

Great food and service. The meats and ingredients were incredibly fresh and generously portioned—definitely come hungry! In addition to the main courses, the appetizers were outstanding. My favorites were the escargot and the foie gras on brioche, both rich and flavorful. One small drawback: I wish the dishes came with more side vegetables. Most plates didn’t include any unless we specifically ordered a salad. Overall, a delicious experience with thoughtful preparation and quality ingredients. The restaurant was also a little too loud as a fine-dining but I guess this is hard to change given the size.

A wonderful place for a gathering, with a warm atmosphere and a light, pleasant aroma in the air. The restaurant offers a well-balanced take on French cuisine: the duck is beautifully done, tuna tartare is amazing, the lamb rack is slightly too gamey, and the desserts could use a bit more flair. Still, it’s worth a try!

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The tuna tartare was outstanding — incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced — and the steak was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection with incredible flavor and tenderness. What truly set the night apart was the thoughtfulness of the staff. It was our anniversary, and they surprised us with a dessert beautifully presented with “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate, which made the evening feel genuinely special and personal. Service was warm, attentive, and perfectly timed, and the atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable. A memorable night in every way — we can’t wait to return.
